Planes searched after bomb threats across Europepublished at 17:27 GMT
Image source, Getty ImagesSeven flights at airports across Europe have been searched following a series of suspected bomb threats.
Two of these flights took off from the UK: one from Heathrow and one from Manchester.
One passenger on the flight from Manchester to Murcia in Spain told the BBC she was unaware of the suspected bomb threat until after the plane landed.
Tuesday's incidents come just one day after a London-Luton Wizz Air flight made an emergency landing in Budapest after receiving a similar threat mid-air.
The UK government described the events as "malicious hoax threats" and said that there are "well-tested processes for dealing with any potential threats".
European airspace is now on "high alert", our transport correspondent Marc Ashdown writes, and international authorities will be pulling together to determine whether this was a co-ordinated attack.
